Add and verify your domain

Monitoring a domain takes three steps. Each is separate: verifying access does not start monitoring, and monitoring does not mean reports are arriving yet.

Add the domain

From Domains, choose Add domain, or Add domain for monitoring after a public check. Each separately managed hostname counts as one domain: example.com and mail.example.com are two. Adding a domain does not start a trial or change your DNS.

Verify domain access

Choose Create the TXT record. SendBop gives you one record: a name and a value. Publish it at your DNS provider, then choose Check record.

  • Not found yet: your DNS provider may still be publishing the record. The value stays the same, so wait a few minutes and check again. SendBop asks your domain's own nameservers, so a recent change shows as soon as they have it.
  • Check did not finish: your nameservers did not answer. This does not mean the record is wrong; try again later.
  • Value expired: a value is valid for 72 hours. Create a new one and publish it instead.

The record stays on the page while you wait, even after you leave and come back. Replace the value only if it was lost or shared by mistake: the old value stops working at once.

Activate monitoring

Activation counts the domain toward your plan. If there is no room, SendBop says what to do next; activating never starts a trial or charges anything.

Domains you manage for others

Add a client's domains from Client management. Record the client's authorization first; reports for a client domain are accepted only after authorization and verified access.
